Aidan Carrigan

Aidan a mammoth high school graduate and grew up on the mammoth ski team where he met many of his closest friends who he still has to this day, many of which will be a part of this panel. After high school, Aidan attended UC Irvine where he got his BS in Materials Science Engineering. Since then, he has worked in Irvine as a Chemical Engineer at a composites and advanced materials company called Axiom Materials, where he focuses mainly on research and development of new material systems. Him and his wife Katherine (high school sweethearts from MHS, she will also be part of the panel) still enjoy frequent visits to Mammoth where they continue to pursue our passion for the outdoors climbing, skiing, and backpacking as often as they possibly can. The town of Mammoth Lakes will always have a special place in his heart and, as much as he loves his  job, continues to serve as a much needed escape from the everyday grind of the engineering world, and the community never fails to welcome him back with open arms.

Katherine Carrigan

Katherine grew up in Mammoth Lakes and attended school there K-12th. During high school, she attended what was then called the Independent Learning Center, where she was able to complete her coursework online through Cerro Coso and other platforms. This flexibility allowed her and her fellow classmates to pursue their dreams on the Mammoth Alpine Ski Team. She was fortunate to compete in multiple Junior Olympics and Far West Regionals.

After graduating from high school, she continued her education at the University of California, Irvine, earning a degree in Public Health Science. She then began working at a Level II trauma hospital in South Orange County, gaining hands-on experience in both the Emergency Department and Trauma units. This experience strengthened her commitment to healthcare and inspired her to pursue a second Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. This past year, she graduated from West Coast University with her BSN and is now proud to work as a registered nurse in the Emergency Department at Mission Hospital.
