Mental wellness
Mental wellness has always been woven into the work of Mammoth Mountain Community Foundation. Through academics, athletics, and outdoor experiences, we help young people build confidence, find belonging, experience the power of movement, feel supported, and develop the tools they need to thrive. Thanks to a transformative donation from MMCF founder Rusty Gregory, we now have the opportunity to deepen that commitment and take a more intentional, strategic approach to supporting mental wellness throughout the Eastern Sierra.
As a first step, MMCF commissioned a comprehensive Mental Wellness Impact Study to better understand the needs, challenges, gaps, and opportunities facing our communities. The findings below are illuminating—some are encouraging, some alarming, and others confirm what many in our community already experience every day. Most importantly, they give us a clearer path forward. Guided by this research, MMCF is committing more resources to programs and initiatives that intentionally support mental wellness as part of our mission to empower Eastern Sierra youth to thrive.
Help us turn these findings into action. Organizations providing mental wellness programming for Eastern Sierra youth can apply for an MMCF Organizational Grant.
