The Elite Athlete Grant is designed to meet the individual needs of athletes at different points in their careers. We would generally expect athletes to use this funding to cover travel expenses, equipment, or entry fees. In your application you will be telling us how you plan to use the funding - be as specific as possible.

No. This is not an expense that would be approved for this grant. MMCF currently offers a Team Fee Reimbursement Scholarship and we recommend that athletes/families apply for that scholarship to help cover the team fees.

The Elite Athlete Grant funding amounts will vary each year. There are a number of factors that effect the awarding amount, the primary factors are the available budget from MMCF for this grant and the number of applicants that the Grant Committee have selected to fund for that year.

Unfortunately we are only able to review applications during the established grant timeline.

Expenses can only be applied to the funds awarded as part of this grant once the applicant is notified of the award and the funds are dispersed. Any expenses incurred before that date are not eligible for use of the funds provided as part of the Elite Athlete Grant.

The Elite Athlete Grant is going to be a very competitive application with many MMSST elite athletes applying for a limited number of funding spots. Your Athlete Resume and your responses to the short essay questions are going to be critically important in telling your story and help to set you apart from other applicants. Additionally, your letter of recommendation from your MMSST coach is going to play a large role in our review team's decision. We suggest starting your application early and submitting your best possible work to be competitive.
