The Mammoth Mountain Community Foundation works to support and motivate our youth through education, athletics, and civic responsibility by developing world-class athletic and academic programs for the kids of the greater Mammoth Community.
Tucked on the east side of the Sierra Nevada mountains, Mammoth is home to a unique and diverse community. The Mammoth Mountain Community Foundation (MMCF) aims to enrich our community by focusing on its most important members — the youths. By furthering the academic and athletic opportunities for the community’s youth, MMCF works to make sure every child can be their best selves, in the classroom, out in the mountains, and as general human beings.
Lindsay Barksdale, Executive Director
Lindsay grew up in Winthrop, Washington, where her life revolved around being outside. In the summer months that meant being in the water, on her bike, or running around the hills, and in the winter, that meant racing around those same hills with nordic or alpine skis strapped to her feet. She came to Mammoth in high school to race for the Mammoth Mountain Ski Team where she excelled at speed events. In the classroom, Lindsay’s stellar grades helped her gain admission to Whitman College, where she was a model student athlete, graduating with a degree in Psychology. After graduation, Lindsay moved back to Mammoth, and hasn’t looked back.
After coaching the Mammoth Mountain Ski Team for 10 years, Lindsay jumped into the role as MMCF’s Executive Director 2014. When not behind the desk, you can find Lindsay enjoying Mammoth’s fresh air, cavorting around with her family on snow, in the bike saddle, or on the trails.
